Siblings!!

How can two siblings be so different!!

She at two years of age would stand up and fiercely order the 12 year old to go play the other side!! She is competitive.. Cant stand anyone scoring more than her, cant stand anyone running faster than her (even if they are older boys!), she has to be able to jump the highest and she even told me proudly that she is the tallest in her class (boys included!)...

I remember him as a child, refusing to go near the slide at the park close to our place if there was a single kid around!! I took him to the park at 10PM!! when there was not a soul in sight. He doesn't care who scores more, who plays more, who wins!!

She will not let a single of her worldly possessions out of her sight. I used to have to give her clothes, and shoes and jackets that don't fit anymore while she is asleep or away.. otherwise she would squeeze herself into it and say.. 'see amma it still fits!!!' He would complain of a shoe that was too tight and that he needs a new one so he could give away his perfectly good old one to a poor friend!!

She will boss over her friends and reduce them to pathetic nodding dummies while she is fully in charge..she once told a little girl friend who was at our home to play 'my mother asked you to go home now' simply because the little girl had a mind of her own.. He will sit down, hand over and watch with joy his friends playing with even his most recent toy and priced possessions!!

She will prepare well for her tests..so that she can score the most of course..he will do exactly what he thinks is needed and then close shop!! She likes watching Telly in the living room on the big plasma.. screaming and giggling or sobbing as the show demands..he will quietly lie in bed with his ear phones and the small DVD player propped up on the pillow in front and quietly enjoy his movies!!

Well that's what bringing them up is fascinating. I look forward to what path, values and beliefs they choose when they grow up.

You are right.. When I look back at my siblings we were quite different.. but not such opposites!! Will be interesting to watch their lives unfold!!
