We saw him running ahead
full of energy.., frisky golden head
sniffing at every pebble and twig
bounding through the woods here and there to dig
He darted from tree to pole..
he waded in shallow waters
he cocked his ear to listen to the bird song
he barked quite annoyed at the buzzing bee
as we stoped by he came over with glee
tail wagging, eyes shining open and friendly
give me a pat, and scratch my ear he said
and before you go can you throw me a stick?
heart so pure, child of God, friend of man
no one can beat a DOG..
